Alan Partridge, former obnoxious TV chat-show host, has fallen on hard times and reduced to making corporate videos for photocopier firms. His wife has run off with a fitness instructor and Alan is now living in a hotel room at the Travel Tavern. He still has his own programme - Up With Partridge - but on Radio Norwich in the graveyard slot of 4.30am. His ambition to get back on BBC TV remains undiminished as he desperately attempts to relaunch his career.
